Everybody’s sin is nobody’s sin, and everybody’s crime is no crime at all.
– Liam Neeson, “Kinsey”
Summer or my second year in LB–I found myself sitting on the couch of the socsci department, nervously fidgeting while waiting for my turn to be grilled by the panel of interviewers that would weigh my worth and decide whether I am eligible to shift to their prestigious department. Much to my surprise, Sir Lastimoza was there. He was reading the day’s paper while ranting about how stupid politics is in the Philippines and how senseless the news is.
I’d like to believe he sat there to cheer us up or take our mind off that damn interview, or not. I’m guessing not, the hell with us. Hehe. He was probably just talking to himself. But while he was there sitting with us (the would-be shiftees) I felt a little relieved, a little relaxed. He got me to thinking that this was just an interview; there are loads of things to be nervous about, like derelict government systems and the horrible economic crisis, but not this one.
So there, that’s some of the nothings that I remember once in a while. He’d probably forgotten that day but if it hadn’t been for him I wouldn’t be able to get through that interview in one piece. =)

–Sarah Jessica Parker
I believe in mistakes and accidents
That the nature of life is chaos and confusion
That man’s rules of law and order may not stand
I should be and be not afraid to reach for heaven
I may think that I know the true hearts needs
My pride may bring me low, unable to see
No closer than yesterday, but tomorrow I may stand
Be and be not afraid to reach for heaven
I’ll see the black car cavalcade, lights on in the morn
I’ll run fast and far away, I’ll run without stopping
Till heart and feet fail or until I can stand
Be and be not afraid
Be and be not afraid
Be and be not afraid to reach for heaven
I wanna feel the car crash
I wanna feel the capsize
I wanna feel the bomb drop, the earth stop
‘Til I’m satisfied
I wanna feel the car crash
‘Cause I’m dyin’ on the inside
I wanna let go and know
That I’ll be alright, alright
"You are the best. You are the worst. You are average. Your
love is a part of you. You try to give it away because you cannot bear
its radiance, but you cannot separate it from yourself. To understand
your fellow humans, you must understand why you give them your love.
You must realize that hate is but a crime-ridden subdivision of love.
You must reclaim what you never lost. You must take leave of your
sanity, and yet be fully responsible for your actions."

ALON
Bayang Barrios
Traysikel bilisan mo ang harurot
Baka di ako umabot
At maiwan nya ako
Naningil ang tadhanang masalimuot
Pagkalipas pagkatapos
